Frequently Asked Questions

Please find some of our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) below:

The European Union Blacklist is a Non-Profit organisation which has been established to maintain a list of both Grey-Listed and Black-Listed companies and individuals. We work with a variety of global banks, institutions and corporations on an invitation only basis.

The EUB was formed in order to maintain a trusted database of companies and individuals on an impartial basis, and our datasets are shared with Banks, Institutions, Governments, NGOs in Europe, The United States, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

If you have received an email or registered mail from us, that means that you have been reported by one of our Partnered Banks, Financial Institutions, Monetary Institutions, NGOs or Multinational Corporations. Reports are taken extremely seriously, and must be signed off from Compliance Officers from the reporting institution.

You have a period of 30 Days during which you can resolve the complaint. Any complaints withdrawn during this time are completely expunged from our records and do not appear on the published list.

Alternatively, if you can not resolve the complaint, you have the opportunity to write to us with supporting evidence in regards to whether there has been a mistake or whether you have received a letter or email in error.

A committee of 10 Members from our 10 Leading Financial and Monetary Institutions meet on a monthly basis in order to review Rebuttal Applications as per our Policies and Procedures.

The European Union Blacklist is a Non-Profit organisation. We do not sell or solicit any services or subscriptions from any of our Partners or Members.

Access to the list is strictly by invitation and by recommendation by current members only. We do not have any application process for new partners. However, if you are a Financial or Monetary Institution affiliated with the European Union, International Monetary Fund, United Nations or World Bank, please contact us and we will provide information on current Members who can recommend you as a new partner.

Furthermore, there is no access to the list for general members of the public under any circumstances.

All information held by us is treated as strictly confidential, as per the laws and regulations of the European Union.

The Reporting Institution can request the EUB to remove the name of any individual or entity off the Blacklist at any time. However, if this is done 30 days after the initial complaint, in some cases the name of the entity may remain on the list permanently. Please refer to the List Types  to understand the Durations related to different Grey List and Black List categorisations.

Please note that we are a Non-Profit Organisation, and hence we will NEVER contact you asking for any kind of payment. If you have received any such email, you may be a victim of Phising or Fraud, and should report this to both the EUB and your Local Authority.

We will only contact you once upon receiving a complaint from one of our Partnered Institutions. We do not respond to emails from Non-Authorised Companies or Institutions, so please do not email us asking for any further information.

Since we are a Non-Profit Organisation, we have an extremely limited ability to respond to questions and queries from Non-Member Companies and Individuals.

If your enquiry is extremely urgent, you may use the contact form on this website in order to get in touch with us. However, please note that no response is guaranteed unless your enquiry warrants a response from the EUB.
